Altos de Torona Bodegas y Viñedos belongs to the Gómez family’s winemaking project, which in its third generation maintains respect for tradition and interest in innovation in the care of the vineyard. With the Integrated Production certification, he follows practices that respect the environment, the conservation of the soil and the landscape in the natural environment in which his vineyard is located. Altos de Torona is the largest single-piece vineyard in the Rías Baixas, with 94 hectares of enormous biodiversity, facing south on the slopes of Monte Galeno, in Tomiño-O Rosal. On this hill, overlooking the river Miño and close to the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyard is divided into plots, where the Albariño grape is mainly grown, as well as other native Galician varieties such as Caíño Blanco, Godello, Loureira or Treixadura. In the Rías Baixas is this space of biodiversity in its purest form, where more than 91 species of flora and 71 of fauna coexist, protected under a plan for action and the conservation of this natural habitat that gives rise to wines of an Atlantic character of marked typicality, freshness and elegance. Its surface area and its philosophy committed to sustainable development in all its processes, has led to the establishment of an extraordinary biological wealth, an object of desire for zoologists and botanists in which multiple species participate in their own way in the final character of their wines. Altos de Torona Barrica is a delicious aged white wine made with grapes of the 100% Albariño variety by Altos de Torona Bodegas y Viñedos under the protection of the regulatory board of Rias Baixas Designation of Origin. This wine is made from sustainable vineyards in integrated production, located in O Rosal, on the slopes midway between the Miño River and the Atlantic Ocean. Altos de Torona Barrica is fermented in 300-liter Burgundian French oak barrels and then aged for six months in the barrels themselves.
