Description
Bodegas Empaz – Casal de Paula is a family winery from the early 20th century whose heir, Emilio Docampo Diéguez, renovated both the vineyards and the facilities a few years ago, equipping them with the latest technologies (cluster selection table and grapes, pneumatic presses, state-of-the-art transfer pumps, stainless steel tanks with cold equipment, etc.) but without neglecting the traditional good work inherited from his grandfather. They have been in the sector for more than 23 years since they began their journey in the year 2000 and make their white wines with the native varieties Treixadura, Torrontés, Godello and Albariño, although they also have Mencia, Brancellao, Ferrón and Sousón vineyards. The Emilio Docampo vineyards extend over two areas within the Ribeiro D.O: San Andrés in Ribadavia and Sadurnín in Cenlle. The total extension of the vineyards amounts to 7 hectares. Casal de Paula Blanco is a white wine encompassed in the regulatory board of Ribeiro Designation of Origin made by Bodegas Empaz – Casal de Paula with the Treixadura, Torrontés, Albariño and Godello grape varieties. It is made with the grapes collected in the 7 hectares of vineyards owned by the winery located in San Andrés in Ribadavia and Sadurnín in Cenlle (Ourense). Casal de Paula Blanco is a wine made in a traditional and non-interventionist way that stands out for being fresh, intense, balanced, broad, with smooth and well-integrated acidity. Long and very pleasant aftertaste.
