Eidos Ermos Blanco is a delicious aged white wine made by Luis Anxo Rodríguez Vázquez Winery with the Treixadura, Albariño, Lado and Torrontés grape varieties within the protection of the regulatory board of Ribeiro Designation of Origin. This wine comes from the winery’s most productive young vineyards, planted on sandy soils. The harvest is manual. Once pressed, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks where it will rest until bottled. Eidos Ermos Blanco is a fresh, wide and fruity wine. A wine with good aromatic intensity, frank and very elegant.

Luis Anxo Rodríguez Vázquez created in 1988 a small family tradition winery in the place of “Os Pasás”, in Paixón, municipality of Arnoia. It has 2.7 hectares of vineyards spread over 29 plots. Its objective is to work with autochthonous varieties, recover the sandy-siliceous slopes and practice low-yield viticulture, manual and respectful with the environment. Luis Anxo is one of the most respected winegrowers in our country, and his wines are the most admired. After finishing his degree in philosophy and oenology in Madrid in 1988, Luis Anxo decided to return to Arnoia, his native land, to recover the small plots or socalcos that his uncle worked. Since then, Luís has done a herculean task to recover the autochthonous varieties, both red and white, and to show that Galicia can produce wines that age with elegance. In fact, much of the responsibility for the recovery of the red varieties in Ribeiro can be attributed to him. Luis works small plots between 10 and 50 years old on decomposed granite soils known locally as Sabrego in the Aronia area and a Treixadura plot in Ribadavia. For its whites, it mainly uses Treixadura with contributions from Lado, Albariño and Godello. For the reds, Ferrol, Caíño longo, Brancellao as well as small amounts of Sousón and Garnacha tintorera. In the winery he works with stainless steel in the fermentation and the barrels, always in use, of between 300 and 500 liters for aging. Luis’s wines arise from experience, attention to detail and an exhaustive selection that he has made over the years. Its more limited wines, the red and white Escolma, come from old parcels and a deep vintage selection that concludes with long aging in barrels and bottles. These wines are only produced in exceptional vintages and are released to the market when Luis considers that they are ready. It also produces a series of much more accessible whites and reds made with the same care and dedication.
