The Fefiñanes Palace has been linked to wine since the 17th century. And it is in the early years of the 20th century when the winery was conceived as a business project. In 1928 the brand and label were created and registered: Albariño de Fefiñanes, a true pioneer. The unique Albariño grape from the Salnés Valley has always been the star of its wines. A variety that has been pampered, preserving its character, its extraordinary expressiveness and its uniqueness. Since its origin, the Palacio de Fefiñanes has been linked to winemaking. A culture that has settled the knowledge of the winemaking process through family generations. Pioneers in the production and marketing of a unique variety, the expressive Albariño grape from the fertile Salnés Valley, to which they dedicate all our efforts. Supported by a small vineyard with centuries-old vines enclosed within the property’s walls, and supported by a handful of small winegrowers, Bodegas del Palacio de Fefiñanes gathers the old manufacturing tradition of Galician country houses. Fefiñanes III Año is a wine with a traditional production process and a long aging period, which shows that the Albariño grape has a high aging capacity. After a short maceration and alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature control, Fefiñanes III Año rests for 7 months in the tanks with its lees and periodic bâttonages. At the end of this period, it continues to rest for a minimum of 23 months in the same deposits.
