In May 2004, Mr. Carlos Saavedra, the fruit of more than 20 years of experience in the wine sector, started a new project with Nor-Iberica de Bebidas S.L in the province of Ourense, an area of ​​great tradition and outstanding quality of its wines and liqueurs. The objective since its inception is to be able to offer its customers a high quality product made with the utmost dedication, just as their ancestors did, starting from a careful distillation process, obtaining grape marc with which they finally shape their liqueurs. This distillery currently has a capacity for more than 750,000 liters of its products. Nor-Iberica de Bebidas S.L has obtained, given the high quality of its liqueurs, the Designation of Origin for: Felipe Saavedra Aguardiente Blanca, Aguardiente de Hierbas and Licor Café. Likewise for Marqués de Marialva Aguardiente Blanca, Aguardiente de Hierbas and Licor Café. Its Marqués de Marialva Herb Liqueur has been awarded its highest distinction by the prestigious Association of Sommeliers of Galicia (Gallaecia) and with the «Pote de Plata» by the Tasting of Viños e Augardentes de Galicia.
