Godeval Revival is a fabulous white wine with aging made by Bodegas Godeval with 100% Godello grapes within the protection of the regulatory board of Valdeorras Designation of Origin. The grapes with which this wine is made come from its emblematic “Pancho” vineyard, one of the oldest on the property, and marked by its slate soil and special microclimate, within the continentalized Atlantic climate that affects the Valdeorras region. Godeval Revival manifests all the aromatic and gustatory component of the Godello variety, once the grapes have been subjected to a cryomaceration process. The definitions of the parameters of this process were defined after the execution, for 3 years, of an R&D Project, in collaboration with the EVEGA (Galician Viticulture and Oenology Station). The Godeval Revival wine received the Great Gold medal from the Galicia Wine Guide 2017. It has 93 points in the Guía Peñín.
Appearance: The colour is yellow with many greenish reflections, friendly and fresh to the eye.
Bouquet: On the nose its aromatic intensity and great personality stand out. In fruity aromas, citrus, lime, pink grapefruit and notes of herbaceous and citrus ginger stand out. In the background appear white fruit, water pear, exotic apple and hints of stone fruit such as peaches. Also appear the vegetable memories of fennel, bay leaf and mint.
Palate: Its intensity, persistence and balanced acidity certainly speak to the palate. It is silky and enveloping with a great aromatic finish and a slight bitterness. Over the years it will offer a wide range of sensations.
The Galician company Bodegas Godeval today makes its wines with the same eagerness and commitment with which they started, 30 years ago, to recover the white Godello grape variety, from the Valdeorras D.O. In its facilities, located in the historic environment of Xagoaza (O Barco), they began their project to recover the variety in the 80s, using part of the medieval building of the Mosteiro de Xagoaza as a winery and planting their own vineyards, in order to manage all the different elaboration aspects and also to follow the philosophy based on “that wine is made in the vineyard”. With the passage of time and the need to continue serving the needs of its customers, expanded its plantations and facilities. The new winery has been designed to become a viewpoint in the valley, where tradition and modernity meet.
