Massimo Selección Criado en Barrica is an excellent aged red wine made with 100% Mencia grapes by Viña D´Mateo Winery under the protection of the regulatory board of Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin. From vineyards that were passed from generation to generation until reaching the hands of Bodegas Viña D¨Mateo, centuries-old terraces located in the Ribeira de Vilacha which are cared for as in the past, seeking the highest quality. During the production, pre-fermentation maceration is carried out for 72 hours to enhance the aromas, later it is fermented at a controlled temperature and with daily pump-overs. Made and aged in French barrels.
Appearance: Cherry red colour and violet rim, elegant visually.
Bouquet: It has a medium-high layer, with hints of red fruits, licorice and toasted.
Palate: Silky, balanced mid palate with a long and persistent finish.
