Meu Treixadura is a 100% Treixadura white wine made by the Viña Costeira Winery within the protection of the regulatory board of Ribeiro Designation of Origin. Meu is a delicate wine, like the Treixadura it contains, pampered from its cultivation, harvest and production. Traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 18º C, aging on the lees for 2 months. This monovarietal with notes of white fruit, citrus peel and sweet spices has become an icon.
Appearance: Straw yellow colour with greenish reflections, clean and bright.
Bouquet: This monovarietal has an elegant and complex aroma that grows in the glass, developing notes of white fruit, citrus peel and sweet spices.
Palate: Wide, balanced, persistent, with very good body and silky touch.
Back in 1968, a group of visionary and rebellious people dared to think differently from the usual in wine cellars at that time and having as a priority the recovery of the historic grape varieties of Galicia: Loureira, Godello, Albariño or Treixadura, among others. This is how Viña Costeira was born, currently a reference as a wine cellar in the Galician scene, with continuous growth that has made it a solid brand based on its tradition and innovation. Finca Saa is their boutique farm with only 4 small plots on slopes and terraces that look out over the Miño valley. Its average altitude is around 250 meters and has a southeast orientation, which helps both solar and wind exposure to be very favorable, which allows optimal maturation. The soils of granite origin together with the good microclimatic conditions make Finca Saa perfect for growing the main Ribeiro grape: the Treixadura. Thanks to the excellent quality obtained with the harvested grapes, they make the Meu Treixadura and Vía Barrosa Treixadura wines. Viña Costeira wines are framed in the oldest denomination of origin in Galicia and probably one of the oldest in Europe: the Ribeiro D.O. Its diversity of varietals is one of the riches that history has given to the Ribeiro. The different strains contribute to the region’s landscape being not a uniform monoculture, but rather a surprising tapestry, whose richness brings incredible combinations of nuances and aromas to the wine. Treixadura, Torrontés, Loureira, Lado, Albariño and Godello are the great autochthonous grape varieties that intervene in the production of whites and take their freshness, body and aromas from them. Caiño, Brancellao, Sousón, Ferrón and Mencía are the protagonists of the reds, tasty and of increasing quality.
