Description
The Pazo Señoráns Winery is located in the Salnés valley, in the Rías Baixas D.O, in the province of Pontevedra. The Pazo and the cellar, initially owned by the married couple formed by Marisol Bueno and Javier Mareque (now also in the hands of their four children, Marisol, Vicky, Javier and Santiago), began its winemaking career in 1989, although the cultivation of the vineyard starts before. The environment of the winery brings together a series of climatic and geographical conditions that give rise to the characteristics of its wines. These are lowlands, with an altitude generally less than 300 meters, close to the sea and associated with the lower sections of the river courses, which formally conditions the climatic characteristics of Atlantic influence that is manifested in mild temperatures and high rainfall and well distributed, with a decrease in water in the summer months. The soil in the Rías Baixas is characterized by the presence of “xabre”. The “xabre” is pure granite degraded due to the high humidity that affects the area. It is very rare to find this type of soil outside the Rías Baixas. It provides the wine with mineral nuances and floral notes. The vineyard is, in its entirety, of the native Albariño variety, it is characterized by the use of the trellis as a conductive system and also by being located in different locations, all within a radius of about 10 km, near the sea. The climatic characteristics of the environment, together with the morphology of the soils (poor, acidic, sandy and thin) provide its grapes with its own aroma and freshness characteristics. Pazo de Señorans Selección de Añada is a white wine with aging encompassed in the regulatory board of Rias Baixas Designation of Origin made by the Pazo de Señorans Winery. It is possibly one of the best wines that are made with the Albariño variety. It is made exclusively from the best grapes from its own vineyard Los Bancales, over 45 years old, planted in trellis, so that the plant is protected from soil moisture and with a large surface area of leaves exposed to the sun. Definitely, it is an essential wine for all lovers of Galician white wines.
