Prómine Singular is a spectacular red wine made by Bodegas Petrón with 100% Mencia grape variety under the protection of the regulatory board of Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin. The grapes with which this wine is made come from Mencia vines that are over 30 years old, all owned by Bodegas Petrón, planted on terraces located in the Amandi Subzone, in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra. They are vineyards that have a low production, barely 1000 kg per hectare compared to the close to 9000 kg estimated by the Regulatory Board, but the quality of their grapes is excellent. In Bodegas Petrón they conserve to the maximum the traditional practices and the old teachings and criteria for the elaboration of wine, they are one of their keys to achieve excellence in their wines. In the XXXII edition of the Galician Wine Tasting, the Prómine Singular wine was awarded the Acio de Oro for the best red wine in Galicia.
Appearance: Clean and bright in appearance, cherry red colour with marked purple hues.
Bouquet: Intense, deep aroma and of marked complexity, dominated by notes of ripe and balsamic fruits (blueberry, ripe plum, menthol, tobacco).
Palate: Its structure, balance and harmony are noteworthy, good mid-palate, pure silkiness and a long aromatic memory.
Bodegas Petrón was born from the passion for wine of two Galician businessmen linked to other sectors. In love with winemaking, they started with a small winery in Barco de Valdeorras from their youth, to later start in 2005 a winery in the area where they considered the best reds in Galicia are produced, the Ribeira Sacra. Already in the hands of the next generation, the winery is beginning its professionalization, and has been presenting its wines on the market since 2015. Its wines belong to the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin and are classified as wines of Amandi. The grape varieties available are Mencía and Garnacha. Located in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, in Doade (Sober), the winery has a capacity for 100,000 liters of wine and abundant vines that have survived the passage of time and are kept in top shape to provide high quality grapes in the Amandi subzone.
