Terra Minei is a fantastic white wine with aging made by Adegas Francisco Fernández – Terra Minei Adega & Viñedos with 100% Treixadura grapes within the protection of the Ribeiro Designation of Origin. The quality of the grapes is guaranteed through the manual vintage process where the best grapes are selected for processing. It is fermented with native yeasts and aged for 6 months on lees, making it a young aged wine. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 17ºC. During the production process, respect for the variety makes its full potential express itself.
Appearance: It has an attractive lemon yellow colour.
Bouquet: It has a very personal aroma of good intensity and very complex. White flowers and egg fruits (jam, peach and cherry) with notes of mint stand out.
Palate: Good entry on the palate with a highly integrated acidity that gives it freshness and lasts very persistently. The aftertaste aroma is intense and clear.
Adegas Francisco Fernández – Terra Minei Adega & Viñedos was founded in 1956, more than 60 years ago in the town of Prado de Miño (Castrelo de Miño). Specifically in the “Casal da Cal”, the estate where the grapes from which the wine is made come from, with the rest of the grapes from nearby estates. The philosophy of Terra Minei wines is to go back to the origins of O Ribeiro, a wine that was a reference in Spain and in all acts of the European monarchies from the fourteenth to the seventeenth century. The name Terra Minei refers to its place of origin and means Land of the Minho in Latin. The procedure of the working techniques respects the methodology of traditional elaboration, combining tradition with technology, to optimize the results. Thus, the essence of the varieties and their potential are preserved, achieving a traditional but avant-garde product. After a long experience in the production of multivarietal wine with native grapes such as Treixadura, Godello, Albariño and a small percentage of Palomino (Lagar de Brais), in 2004 it began, with the advice of the winemaker José M. Mtnez. Juste the production of a single varietal with Treixadura. Thus, an aromatic, fine and elegant white wine is achieved, Terra Minei. This monovarietal was one of the pioneers in being made with 100% Treixadura grapes, since until now; the conventional in O Ribeiro was the production of plurivarietales. It has managed to achieve success in numerous national and international official competitions, accumulating a large number of recognitions and awards. Adegas Francisco Fernández – Terra Minei Adega & Viñedos wines are marketed throughout Spain, with Ribeiro being a reference in the most prestigious stores. Internationally they are present in different parts of Europe, USA and Canada.
